In 2022, iconic, gifted and multiple award winning Canadian singer songwriters
Marc Jordan and Amy Sky will release their first ever duet collaboration.
The new project, HE SANG SHE SANG, is the first time the prolific duo, who have beenmarried for 33 years, have recorded an entire album together.
The couple met in Los Angeles in 1986, and married in 1987. In 1993, they moved backto Toronto, where both grew up. They decided early on to keep their careers largelyseparate. When the opportunity to collaborate would present, they dipped their toes inand loved it, but never pursued it further.
This decision was due partly to the desire to always keep one parent at home withtheir two children, but also because their musical styles were distinct, their marriagehappy, and they wanted to keep it that way.
Now empty nesters , the idea of exploring where their voices and genres overlappedintrigued them. After years of mainly going their separate ways on the road, the ability to tour together was a bonus.
The result, is a thoughtful and moving collection of originals and covers that highlighttheir superb vocal interpretations , gifted producing skills and masterful songwriting.
Both possess outstanding vocal technique , and the blend of their voices, with Marc'ssmoky resonance and Amy's sinewy alto, is as rich as dark chocolate and
as full-bodied as a glass of the finest cabernet .
Their song choices are a unique blend of Americana, Soul and Jazz, infused with the SouthernCalifornia soft rock sound that was seminal to both of them.
The duo have a unique bond with their audience, coupling their deeply emotional interpretations with a wry sense of humour and appreciation of the other.
Together, they have winning chemistry on stage, as they perform their hits individually and their duets together.
The songbook for HE SANG SHE SANG has a universal appeal. Covers of songs by Tom Petty,Bonnie Raitt, Willie Nelson, The Beach Boys, and Smoky Robinson, along with Marc Jordan andAmy Sky originals, will offer something for music lovers of all ages.
